Gardening

Large rocks need to be moved out of the way of
a future garden bed for the planned permaculture
installation. If it wiggles it can usually be moved,
with a lot of effort. If it doesn't wiggle, it is Pender
Island and only an earthquake might move it.

Judy working on the permaculture layout.

Venus, a familiar companion in early evening
after sunset these days.

Installation of the Steel Roof

Standing-seam steel roof in "Charcoal."

Barry and Shane on the roof.

Paul on the roof.

Very nice work to make the two planes intersect perfectly.

Plumbing Rough-in

Drain pipes under the bathroom.

More Progress with Windows and Roof

West-facing windows.

East-facing windows.

One of the windows next to the bed bump-out.

Delivery of the steel roof panels in two large crates;
a total of 1.2 tons (2700 lbs) of steel panels for
the charcoal-coloured standing-seam roof.

Spring has sprung. Blossoms on our
Mirabelle plum tree.

A pod of Orcas sighted from the ferry
near the western entrance to Active Pass.

In this picture there is a large male, one smaller
female and one very small wale, perhaps
one of the recent new additions to J-pod?
