Blog Update June 24, 2015

Evening mood in the cool moss garden.
Steve painting.
An important element of design is taking shape:
The beams, posts and roof joists will be stained in solid white.
The decking above the joists was pre-stained in transparent white
and looks more white next to the newly solid white joists.
The "artist's wall" on the old cabin.
Even weeds can have pretty flowers. These are the tiny
flowers of Skunkweed.
Another weed ready to let is seeds fly.
This is not a weed. This is the flower on a mint bush.
Sunset at summer solstice in the northwest.
The sun will now start to move more to the south again

Approaching Summer Solstice

View to the north west, up Trincomali Channel. This is where the
sun sets at the height of the summer. We think the prominent
mountain in the centre is Mt.Benson near Nanaimo.

Urs on the veranda.

View from the back. The carport walls are taking shape.

No rain for many days. Everything is very dry.
These weeds are ready to spread their seeds.

Barry removes the old fibreglass roof at the cabin
that held up so well for over 20 years.

The new cabin roof is the same product as is used for the house.

In June we always have a profusion of rose campion.

Corn flowers have just come out within a week.
